Morning all,

Our finance teams are reporting an issue that arose towards the end of last week.

Basically we use O365 and now remittance emails fail to send through PSF financials (cloud).

Basically a test email works but all remittance emails fail. Apparently this is affecting all PSF Finance users who use O365 smtp due to sending limits and the advice received is to use a different smtp solution (which they acknowledge isn't an ideal solution) or to move to their SMTP solution.

I'm just wondering who else on here has experienced this issue and what solution was taken to resolve it?

Many thanks

Dan

We're experiencing the same thing, this is what PS have told us:

We are aware of an increase in emails sent from the IRIS/PS Financials software not always reaching the desired recipient, as they are being incorrectly identified as sending spam. We have been investigating how we can avoid this issue and what should be best practice.

To this end, we recommend that the best way to ensure emails are delivered safely is for customers to use their own email infrastructure to send emails from the Emailing Suite, which will vastly reduce the possibility that the emails are incorrectly perceived to be malicious. This will also allow customers to retain full control of SMTP settings and make updates or changes that may be required. The change is very simple to implement and of course we will assist with the set-up. If your SMTP provider is Microsoft, however, you may prefer not to choose this option as the sending limits set by this provider are overly stringent and you may find your account becomes blocked if you are perceived as sending too may emails.

We are able to offer a different solution which would require some information from you and a small amount of configuration by your IT provider. Initially we will require a list of all your domains which are used for sending email. We will then create three entries for each domain which your IT Support will need to add into your DNS. We would then make the required changes to your IRIS/PS Financials system so that your emails are routed through a provider called SendGrid, which should prevent them from being marked as spam.

This their latest update:

Further to my message last week, I just wanted to let you know that it looks as there has been a recent change by Microsoft to their Office 365 software, which is severely impacting all of our customers using their own O365 for the Emailing Suite. If your SMTP provider is Microsoft, you may prefer to use the second option I mentioned, where your emails are routed through our systems but using a provider called SendGrid.

Thanks for your reply, yes sendgrid is the route they've recommended we take.

Have you implemented that solution?

Thanks

Yeah - we are going through this pain at the moment.

Really annoying to be honest!

Larger orgs have to purchase mail gun or similar to send bulk mail. Microsoft will want to protect their infrastructure. I think Mailgun is about $35 a month on the lowest tier.

It also doesn’t help a fair few Phishing emails have the subject remittance.

Yes it really is annoying. So are you going down the sendgrid route too?

This isn't a new issue. We've been with psf for years. some Orders are received first time others not to the same recipients ..sometimes received when sent again or last resort manually attach to an email.

we got exactly the same response about using another system.

To me it's like providing a half working system. Any other platform have no issues sending emails so why Iris!
