posts in Forums....display order...

this is nothing important, but in my opinion is annoying... when you go to forums (Any) that you frequent, and you start reading the posts,,,, you find them in order of posting... but some list the post in sequencial order, like Edugeek, which is nice because you can follow what people post and discuss... but on the other hand you have those forums that display the most recent post first!!! isn't this annoying??? so either you go to the last page and to the bottom of the page to start reading, or some sites gives you the option to click and order posts by date.

@GD - NNTP style is good - for Newsgroups! but not Forums

There is the option in preferences but it's busted - if you opt for viewing recent first then the page goes crazy.

It's selective intelligence. It only goes crazy because your browser believes you must be crazy to want new posts first!

I like the threaded view for forums. It allows people to go off topic and not wreck the general thread. So I like them in sequential order, but set to threaded.

ups sorry I forgot the NNTP style but well that is just a style my main point is the order, newest or oldest first....it is like reading a book, do you start reading from the last page of the story? ahh,, and noo , dont come up with ideas like asian languages! because they read the oposite way..

Urgh.... tell me about it, got this all the time with Oldham Council - almost all their leaflets START with Urdu, then about 12 languages later you find the English section

Wont be long before they start wrting the roadsigns in in Urdu...

Whoops... I should have read the question properly...

 

Cancel my vote, I thought we were talking about thread order in the "New posts" view.

 

The current way works fine and the "jump to last unread post" function does the job for those who just want to catch up.
