Login loop on Chromebooks - anyone else having this issue today?

We've had this for the last few days too. Affecting quite a few devices and affecting the same user more than once.

The temporary fix for us was to go into the Chrome settings and 'Restore all settings to default', then sign out and back in.

However, I did that for one user on Friday and by Monday they had it happening again.

We had a class of 32 in the ICT Suite on Friday using CloudReady machines and nearly all of them had the issue.

Google know nothing about it (as usual) and have asked me to collect logs.

We also started noticing this issue at the end of last week. We have 265 Chromebooks so the thought of them all having issues is a bit daunting. So far though (and I still don't know why) we have only had a small number affected. I was simply doing a Powerwash and making sure they were up to date, though after reading about the setting to delete all data when logging out I have now made that change. Hopefully this will work but I'll know for sure in a few days. Other than this thread, I have not found much else about this issue.

Issues continuing today, I just want to ask, is anyone else using senso? Had a report from user saying the when it happened today ( third time for this user) they noticed a senso error message at the same time (and they think it might have been there the last time too). Just want to see if this is coincidence or not.

We use Senso.

We don't use it

Google asked me to collect some logs, but they don't seem to show anything useful. It passed all of the network connectivity tests.

I was also asked to gather an HAR file, but to do that I have to load the Developer Tools, and it won't let me load those on the affected pages (Drive, Gmail, Docs, etc).

Ours has changed slightly, don't know if this is different or linked but staff and student Classroom, Drive, Sheets etc....are refreshing constantly without the sign-in nag. Page loads, then refreshes - vicious circle. Profile reset doesn't fix. Hot spotting to mobile device doesn't fix so also excludes a filter issue. Anyone else seeing similar this morning? Cheers.

We're now getting this issue with Google Classroom and constantly refreshing. Tried profile resetting and powerwashing the Chromebook, but no joy.

we've had an influx of students today with this issue. just to add to the reports here (as not all of it has been consistent with our observations in fixing it). If the problem is on a chromebook, google classroom seems to always be affected. however we've also had a student with the exact same constant reloading issue with Tassomai which isn't using any google login/authentication. resetting profiles hasn't worked for the ones we've tried, but for the vast majority it seems powerwashing works (but again it's not 100% consistent, some still persist after the powerwash). Theres reports that the chromebook started acting up halfway through a lesson; i.e. there wasn't an update or restart that seemed to have induced it.

The refresh issue seems to be Senso related.

senso.cloud | Service Status

Just been chatting with Senso -- they've submitted the fix to Google and are awaiting them to authorise it. They've expressed the urgency to Google but it may take a few hours to a day for them to authorise.

Seems to be two different issues as this thread is now a few days old. We are experiencing the Senso issue (as we use Senso) but that only started happening today. Me and my colleague normally get email alerts from Senso about issues. Neither of us got an email about this issue and have therefore wasted a good part of the morning trying to diagnose this. We removed the Senso extension from a couple of test users and the problem was immediately resolved. It was only then that we checked http://service.senso.cloud/and found out that they knew about the issue from at least 10am (senso.cloud | Service Status) . Did anyone else not get an alert from them this morning?

No alert received from Senso.

Staff devices have had Senso client removed and looping refresh has disappeared.

No sign-in nag complaints either.......

I've asked Senso if the two issues might be related. They said unlikely as the refresh issue should only have started yesterday but he was going to check with colleagues and confirm...

I subscribed to their status page alerts a while ago, and there was a phase I was getting emails almost daily about the niggles they were getting a couple months ago, but yeah I haven't received anything today (or even possibly for a few weeks), like you said. However when I log in to their status page it's also saying All Services are Active, so I guess there's something misconfigured on their end on how they raised today's incident.

Senso status page says the updated extension has ben approved. Ive tested on a couple of devices and all appears back to normal. Not experiencing the constant refreshing.

Working for us here now too. Is anyone still experiencing the original post problem, with the looping login, or heard back from Google about it?

Havent seen the login loop issue for a few days now luckily.

I would guess that google fixed the login loop issue. This update caused the SENSO extension to have a meltdown. SENSO now fixed it so fingers crossed all good!

Roll on the weekend!

Yes, I cannot help but feel that the two are linked in some way. Rolling latest Senso client out currently.

We were getting the sign in loop for staff and students and only the students have Senso installed. So maybe the sign in loop caused the Senso reloading issue, but I doubt fixing Senso will fix the Google sign in loop. We'll see what happens today.
