an email causing chromium based browsers to crash

Hi

We use outlook web app as part of office 365 for emails. Every morning a member of staff will send an email to all staff, this will work fine and people will reply and she can respond. However about half an hour to an hour later she will send another email to all staff but this time it will cause several members of staffs (but not all) browser to crash. Their isn't anything fancy in or attached to the email, its just plain text and different content every day. The problem will follow a user across different PC's that they log into. I have deleted the users profile and appdata and it still occurs. We have edge and chrome browser installed on users PC's and the problem occurs on both browsers. I installed Firefox for a user who was experiencing the issue and the problem didn't occur in that browser. Also if we change the reading pain to be at the bottom of the screen or off then the problem doesn't occur.

so in a nut shell if a user opens the email in a chromium based browser with the reading pain in the default place then it crashes the browser. Has anyone experienced any thing like this or any suggestion as to what might be causing it?

Not come across that. We don't use Outlook web app here and it sounds like it's owa that's getting the grump with a particular message.

 

Does the staff member who's sending the message each day use an exisitng message as the basis of the new one each day (or paste in content from some other application when composing it)?

 

One thing to test after it next happens would be to have the sender copy the body of an offending message, start composing a new message,Ctrl+Shift+V to paste the content as plaintext without any formatting, and send it to a recipient who experienced a crash. If that then doesn't result in a crash, you know it's some hidden funkiness in the content.
