Cheap graphics cards

Morning,

 

We have previously been using Nvidia GT710 graphics cards in our desktops as a cheap card for basic office functions and the odd bit of Photoshop. These cards seem to be all but depleted and the next jump up seems overkill. Can anyone recommend something to fill the void without costing an arm and a leg?

GT730 would be the next jump but it comes with a jump in price.

 

We did get a few GT730's from Dell about a year ago for £30 each but they don't seem to do them anymore.

Sadly there are no cheap graphics cards any more! All the new cards are going for silly money

 

I've got refurb Low Profile nVidia NVS310 cards available (2 x displayport, 1GB DDR3) for £20 each at the moment, should you need something in the meantime

Latest AMD integrated graphics are even better.

 

I ideally wanted discrete graphics for our whiteboard computers, smart notebook in 4k struggles a little, but it is just about working with integrated and as others have said, getting any reasonably priced graphics card at the moment is almost impossible.

My new desktop has the Ryzen 5 5600G with the VEGA7 I needed some light video editing and this was a better bet than a low end discreet graphics solution.

 

The HP Probook 440 G8 we bought recently have the intel XE graphics and they run the 4k displays at 60hz just fine.

I have a similar problem, but I mainly need GPU that can output to 3 different screens - 2 monitors + Interactive TV. 710 were perfect for this.

Managed to get some 1050's around £100 before Christmas

 

Seems totally counter productive these days to get the 7xx GPUs. At home, the GTX 770 is my old old gpu (770 > 1070 > 3070).

 

710's were released in 2015

730's were released in 2014

 

Intel builtin is more capable

Anything 3rd Generation intel or higher should be able to run multiple displays across the gfx card and the onboard ports.

So long as you've at least one output on the motherboard, you'll be able to use three screens if your graphics card has a pair of outputs.

This. Use a USB C dock aswell and you've got even more monitor capabilities.

 

If the goal is more monitors, just use the onboard. If you're looking for something for photoshop/illustrator, a 710/730 is a downgrade

Not of course if you're using Intel HD Graphics until about Skylake-era. I'm using a GT710 with Sandy Bridge and it's a huge upgrade and Photoshop doesn't crash like it used to.

Is the consensus that GPU prices are finally coming down?

With Xmas around the corner, two gaming teens at home, and present for self overdue, what would got for in:

 

• Budget - up to £250
  
• Midrange - up to £500
  
• You're paid too much - let's limit this at £1000
  

 

And is Black Friday (not that it's 'a day' anymore )worth waiting for?
