butlerad Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 For the majority of the time the behaviour in Teams seems to be that the display name attribute is used? We use lastname first initial for the display name, for example Bloggs J. For some reason Teams has switched it's behaviour in Assignments, it now displays the staff members full name when posting assignments? Anyone else encountered this, do you know which AD attribute Teams is using in this instance? Annoying, as staff don't want their first names shown the students and there seems no logical/simple way to prevent it?
Boredguy Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 Does appear that they updated something in the background this month as have had the same since the start of term, and does not appear to be any setting to adjust it, and I'm not updating all the forenames for staff. I know Teams isn't designed for education but it's a pain at times when changes happen that aren't easily spotted in any documentation
butlerad Posted January 17, 2022 Author Posted January 17, 2022 Agreed - why would they change this in assignments... an obvious educational feature?! Very odd.
chazzy2501 Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 damn it, just spotted this... Using First Name, Last Name; it should be using Display Name.
butlerad Posted January 17, 2022 Author Posted January 17, 2022 There is a user voice post about it here, but would need some considerable upvotes to even be on their radar: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/3f08496b-6374-ec11-a81b-6045bd7a88b9 2
CumbrianMan Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 Upvoted also. What a pain in the derriere! Do MS just not think, or just don't care?!!
