Remote Access to LAN PCs over Internet

Hi all,

 

This is my first post and hope all you guys will help me in the issue.

 

I want to access the office PCs over the Internet. The office PCs are in the LAN and LAN IP is 192.168.0.2, 192.168.0.3 and so on... I can able to access them locally using WinXP Remote Desktop and tightVNC but when I try to use outside from the office over the Internet then unable to connect

 

We have an eTEC router in the office and I've configured the router firewall and open the port to access LAN PCs. Also have configured Windows Firewall, but no joy. I also have tried to open all TCP ports 1 to 65000 however no luck!!

 

PLEASE HELP..

Thanks but will it allow me FREE for upto 10 PCs?

With logmein free version you can use as many computers as you like. With logmein pro trial you can use upto 10 computers.

Thanks for the help and I'll try on Monday. I hope free version allow me upto 10 PCs and don't want to go for trial version.

you will be able to do more than 10, there is no limit on the free version

There is something in netsupport manager that will allow you to do this, I think its called netsupport gateway

 

If you configure your router properly VNC will also work

I have tried logmein Free version and it works like a clock. But poor graphics, anyway it worked. This one is good as no need to configure firewall etc.

 

Is out there any other web base remote assistant which doesn't require any configure to firewall etc? I know the there is Microsoft's "Remote Desktop Web Connection" but it requires to configure router.

I just use teamviewer works behind any firewall no need to change any settings behind router as it does it all via http on port 80. Even works if you dont have a static ip as you will be givien a static number by teamview and you can also use it to login to windows on bootup remotly Edited June 24, 2008 by andrew_obrien

It has full VPN access and also has file transfer which i find usefull

For serious remote support try BeAnywhere Support Express. It works behind any firewall and with dynamic IPs. It has remote control, file transfer, live chat, support statistics, etc.

Why nobody suggested Radmin software? It's a professional tool for remote access.

we use RDP to provide remote access from home, once connected to the school 2008 TS server I can use either italc or RDP to access other machines within the school.

I just use windows routing and remote access, connect to a server on-site using SSTP then have full access to all IPs on all VLANs too so from my local machine at home I can access anything as if on -site.

I was just being mischievous! Interesting to see that the recommendations are still the top products today. Although I don't believe LogMeIn free anymore!

If you are having to remote in try and use a VPN (Pfsense+ OpenVPN is free), RDP works, but shouldn't really be advertised to the internet these days, though RD Gateway is a better solution.
