Hightower Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Hi, Looking for some software to watch video on my PC. I have a freeview box going via scart to a dazzle box (works perfectly with vcr) with then goes to pc via USB2.0 I can watch it through Studio (which came with Dazzle box) but it's only tiny in the top corner. I dont want to record, just stream it along to my PC. I found something called DScaler where you can select external inputs to watch in full screen - but I can't get it working (works with webcam, just crashes whenever I select Dazzle). Can anyone recommend any other free software?
Domino Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 VLC (sometimes called Videolan) can play streams. works amazingly for most things. I've used it to stream a dvd disc from one machines drive to a load of others before.
MyDejaVu Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 ok, I recently got this hardware/software solution to transfer Videos to the PC in order to make DVDs, Hauppauge Computer Works I got USB WinTV USB Live so you could get something from there, but they are not free of course,. but not expensive.
LeMarchand Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Pretty sure that I've used The KM Player with a video in device with good results (it's free, so it won't hurt to try it!

I'm not asking if it's any good - I'm asking for something that works. Yes, I know VLC has it's good points but I've said it's not working so it's no good
