Garacesh Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Win + ; Brings up the emoji menu! []~( ̄▽ ̄)~* Let's not encourage this one. There's a time and a place for emoji, and it ain't "Naughty Pupil X has now been permanently excluded 🥳" or "Dear Parent/Carer, I am writing to you to inform you that we are now offering COVID 😷 vaccinations 💉 on Monday the 22nd"
jthompson Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Has this one been mentioned yet? Ctrl+right/left when editing text (e.g. in Word) will move the cursor to the start of the next/previous word. Perhaps not useful enough to become a habit, but it might spark interest in what other tips are on offer. 1
Norphy Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Similarly, pressing CTRL-END or CTRL-HOME takes you to the beginning/end of the document, rather than the line. Holding down SHIFT while doing one of the above highlights the word/line/document. 1

Chaniel Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 Do Not Disturb settings for Outlook Mobile - that's one that I push regularly. A lot of staff have Outlook on their personal phones, it has built-in Do Not Disturb that you can specify to not alert out of work hours (that you specify) or weekends etc. I understand that staff will often want/need emails on their phones, but I push for them to turn that on so they don't get notified of emails at 8pm and feel inclined to do more work... 1
tmoon-mint Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 Here is another good one. If you have Powertoys installed it has this handy keyboard shortcut guide. 1

Yes, that's a good one, particularly so for teaching staff. Either the DND settings, or equivalent options for managing mobile notifications of a school email account. Lots of staff here want to be able to access their emails on their phone, but not have any notifications from them. There'll be ready-made guides from Apple/Google on how to do that which you can just link people to.
