Ratcliffepg Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 Morning all What are you using to backup Google drive for your site, and how much are you paying for this ?? Or are you not bothering ? Thank you
Sonic007 Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 Cube Backup is one I've looked at using. https://www.cubebackup.com/
colly72 Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 +1 for Cubebackup. Very cost effective too, only $2 per user per year for education
Ratcliffepg Posted November 17, 2021 Author Posted November 17, 2021 Do you backup up to the cloud of locally ? Colly 72
localzuk Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 +1 for Cubebackup. Very cost effective too, only $2 per user per year for education Note, that price is only for the software. You have to provide your own storage on top. We use the built in Boxafe backup on QNAP NAS's for our Google backup at the moment. No extra cost on top of the NAS itself.

True but you can backup to any type local disk, which can work out very cost-effective. Boxafe is good though and license free. Synology do a similar app called Active Backup. - - - Updated - - - Do you backup up to the cloud of locally ? Colly 72 Locally. Initial backup takes forever but then incremental backups after that
jthompson Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 Working on this at the moment and looking at using Backupify. Not up and running with it yet, though. As well as Google Drive, it'll also protect Gmail mailboxes and Shared Drives.
DavR Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 We don't backup Google Drives, but at the moment it's mostly only primary-age classwork and resources. We are looking at migrating our core data to Office 365 though, and for that I'm looking at either using Veeam (we have an existing license) or LGfL Gridstore (which is Redstor SE underneath).
TwistedHelixis Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 We use both Spanning and Cubebackup.

(because of stupid ransomware) and if we had to resore it i guess it would have to goto the Synology first then back to google has anyone worked through this yet? im working on a cyber response plan (part of the insurance requierments)
slugshead Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 but how do you get cold copies of the Synology NAS? Veeam with a tape loader
