KeyData Posted November 12, 2021 Posted November 12, 2021 (edited) Hello, Can anyone please help me with this? I have started to update last year's Y11 Individual Report and when I close the Word Template SIMS hangs and I have to end the task. My colleague gets the same error when she tries it on her PC. We both use Word 2016 and are on the Summer release. This crashing of SIMS occurs on any existing Individual Report we try and even if we create a new Individual Report, then open the Word Template and close it without making an edit. I checked Task Manager to see if Word was still open despite appearing to close normally and saw that it was not showing up as still running. I connected to our virtual SIMS Server via MSTC which has Word 2010. Opening any Individual Report's Word Template and closing it worked properly on the Server with Word 2010 but it would be impractical to carry out this work on the Server. timetableman Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 We're having the exact same problem, I have disabled all the plugins that we use for all our other processes, but winword.exe doesn't close properly, so I can be sat at 0/300 reports, once I close the first it processes them, but then crashes as soon as InTouch loads to email them out. I have logged a case, there are similar issues raised on the Facebook Data Managers forum. 1
Foresthippy Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 I had something similar to this - http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/224790-generating-report-hang-sims.html My solution was to install Office 2019. Word closes cleanly without leaving a process behind and all was good. 1
KeyData Posted November 16, 2021 Author Posted November 16, 2021 Thank you both. The Individual Reports started working again yesterday without any intervention. Perhaps server/network issues but hopefully all alright for now.
