I think we should all raise a glass to the cloud MIS teams. 2000 schools to Arbor and 330+ for Bromcom, and I imagine similar to the others, are a massive onboarding and ramp up of resources and I haven't seen any major performance issues being reported. I bet it has been a pretty fraught time for them.

We moved to Bromcom and use Bromcom finance module. Actually moving was a massive faff as very little could be "imported" across, but now it's up and running finance team seem happy enough with it.

This thread seems to point out that Bromcom has had a few growing pains with the recent influx of users.

 

We're hoping to get the ball rolling fairly soon - met with all the big names and so far Arbor is my preferred choice.

 

A question for those who have replaced SIMS, what are they using to replace FMS?

 

We unfortunately need to keep FMS running for awhile as the Business Manager is a bit reluctant to move from that yet. Our choice is limited by what the LA dictates with our current SIMS support provider recommending that we move to a platform called Access Education Finance. Anybody have any experience with this?

It's been a lot of work but over the half term we migrated to Arbor!

 

Ta ta SIMS, not going to miss you one bit. We're also moving away from FMS in April, so I can finally look into sunsetting the server.

 

For anyone contemplating switching, do it. The difference of running a modern MIS is truly night and day.

PSF, Bromcom Finance, Civica Finance, Access Finance.

 

There's quite a few these days. We use PSF here. It works but has its foibles, like any system.

We're moving to Access Finance who were recommended by our LA. Haven't had much involvement as our Business Manager is handling that side of things.

 

I have had to move to an alternative to Equipment Manager though as Access has no such feature. Ended up going with Microsoft Lists and then building a Power App which allows me to add, remove and update items from my work mobile - works great.

We moved to sage cloud and its been great with lots of transferable skills from staff, previously used Civica Finance but that was taken over and was very outdated.

Sims still bleeding schools even during what is normally a quiet period. Arbor putting a bit of distance between themselves and the rest of their competitors.

In Summary SIMS lost 242 schools

 

236 schools moved to Arbor (+12 Secondaries)

43 schools moved to Bromcom (+10 Secondaries)

I'd imagine SIMs have probably lost more schools as these stats don't include independant schools that have left.
