Just as a courtesy for anyone staying at any of the Hotels on Western Gateway (e.g Crowne Plaza/Good Hotel): There's been a bit of a rise of "trouble" on the road late at night (people on Quad-bikes etc) and ExCel Security/Police have had to get involved. If you're a light sleeper and staying on the same road - may be worth grabbing some ear plugs! It normally quietens down after half 11-ish thankfully...

I forgot to add this last week. Here is our first BETT badge in 2 years and as per normal, has a topical theme in the colour scheme.

I think you can all guess what it is this time!

I'll be there on the Friday. First time in over 10 years (when did it move from Olympia?). Got me a hotel booked on Thursday evening. Driving up instead of train.

Gareth

It will be good to see you. Pop over to SK51 for a catch up?

I'll be there on the Thursday and Friday but looking at the floor plan it doesn't look as busy as usual sadly, might not need both days this year.

I am potentially making an appearance on Friday for all the LGfL (and non LGfL!) schools to ask questions to a techie, on the AdEPT Education stand... I intend to mingle with as many as I can so please do come say hi :) I welcome any and all, especially if you want to tell me where we can do better :p

Confirmed to be there Friday from 9.30am till they boot us out / 6pm unless techies hold me hostage! :peace:

Please feel free to bring all queries about the LGfL filtering/firewalling/what you would like to see/tell me how this works etc, more than happy to go into detail and also keen to hear what you need and if we can do it. :D

Going Thursday and Friday

Anybody know if you can take food and drink in still this year? We've got a couple of junior people going and would save them a bomb

I don't think I've ever had my bag checked, I've always taken food and drink with me!

Just an FYI... Bett closes 5pm on Friday not 6pm this year.

It's very busy today and a bit of a relief for all the exhibitors as no one was quite sure what the attendance would be like :)

We've already had many of you come to say hello and pick up some freebies and look forwards to seeing more of you over the next couple of days.

If you are coming then please remember to take whatever precautions you need due to the increased coivid rates in London and the SE.

Hope you all had a good first day. I didn't have a chance to make it down today but did see a few "EduGeek" branded shirts walking down the road this morning as I was heading out of Tesco! Hopefully get to meet a few of you in the coming days.

Do feel free to say hi to us, we don't usually bite even that early in a morning as we've usually had some form of coffee and basic food before going tesco for lunch / snacks / survive the day items [emoji6][emoji106]

Quite busy there yesterday, but if you're cautious about Covid, I'd hesitate going.

Masks were probably on only 10% of people and no one was checking LFT tests, covid passes or anything like that!

Yes, pretty much all restrictions have been lifted, however stands are doing what they can, and almost everyone has hand sanitiser.

On the DLR almost everyone is wearing masks (inclusing ourselves).

One thing that, and this is my own fault, has annoyed me is that I packed clothing for a normal BETT, so I have a warm coat and jumper.

The weather has been amazing so far and leaving the show at the end of the day is a bit of a shock. Daylight and warm.

It's the end times I tell you!

Us northerners may have to sacrifice something to appease the weather gods!

I'm sat outside with a coffee thinking I wish I could leave my coat somewhere for the day!

Edit, found the cloakroom :D
