Does anyone use A2C for exams? we have just updated to the latest version hoping that it would work properly with Windows 10 but It's just throwing .Net errors at me:

Application: jcq.a2c.client.gui.exe

Framework Version: v4.0.30319

Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.

Exception Info: exception code c0000005, exception address 00000000

Has anyone had similar?

Yep, installed it on the same computers that had the existing A2C tool on it, no errors generated.

If you have done it on a fresh station, have you updated the .net version on the computer?

Well after our summer upgrade to 20H2 the old version doesn't work and neither does the new one. The machines are on .net framework 4.8 as its built in. The only machine I can get it working on is my own without any problems and the only difference I can see is that my PC is Pro and the others are Education.

Theres no difference with run as admin. We have been having some random problems with the Solus 3 agent crashing randomly too same error in event logs. I'm going to re image a computer without any group policies being applied and see if it goes away, if not then there is a problem with the image...

Are you using a standard Windows ISO image, or one you created from a capture?

All our stations are built from the the standard Windows 10 20H2 iso via MDT?SCCM. Might be something else to check, even if you have a spare machine you can try it on at the same time as you rebuild the other one

Just did a fresh install, put the computer in the computers OU and it works fine. I've dragged it into our Admin container with some GPOs applied and it is still fine. I'm just installing our AV now to test if it is that, if that passes then I'm going to have to have a look at our standard Win 10 PC GPO because the issue might be there.

I've got to update our A2C software soon. Does anyone know if you can run the update over the top of the existing install without installing afresh?

You can do as it goes in a different folder, but if you had previously installed A2C with the AppData folder sat somewhere centrally, then it's a simple case of updating the jcq.a2c.client.gui.exe.config file (short name I know) with the CustomAppDataPath having the value of your folder, which for us we put on the S drive

Used it for years, never had any issues. They've just recently updated it to a new version which I have updated to, and not seen any issues.
