Meraki APs

I'm starting to hate Meraki lol - their SSIDs aren't broadcasting to some laptops. Might not be a problem with the APs but still, I need help. The laptop can pick up other wireless networks in the area, including hotspots, but our SSIDs aren't showing up in the list of available networks. Tried Windows updates, tried driver updates, tried a reboot. Any help is much appreciated

Can other devices(smartphone or something) pick up your SSIDs?

Yes. Most of them can

Have you tried changing the bitrate of the SSID (Last setting when editing an SSID)?

I don't actually touch any of the settings on Meraki's side, that's for my manager. Just wondered if anything was wrong with the devices I'm trying to connect

I’ve seen issues with devices not detecting Wifi6 APs but do see others

If the devices are old, or have an older WiFi card, then they may need a lower bitrate to connect to.

Thanks for that, our bitrate is set a lot lower (6 to 54)

If changing the bitrate doesn't fix the issue then its recommended to disable 802.11b if you can?

Unfortunately I can't change this, is everyone thinking it's something to do with settings on meraki rather than the actual device itself? I've updated everything I can on them lol

Could be either or a mixture of things depending on the age of the clients and the APs... I'd think it is to do with some compatibility settings on the Meraki APs, but could be an issue with certain wi-fi cards in the laptops or their drivers. But without full specs of all the equipment we are shooting in the dark - is it all the same model/age laptop or wi-fi card, are certain APs only broadcasting the SSID to certain laptops?

Seems like the main issue is device drivers, maybe the one the Windows updated it with was older than a newer one on the provider's website. Thank you all for your help

We've just experienced the same issue with our Fujitsu Lifebook A555's they could no longer see the SSID from the Merakis but after updating the the WLAN driver on the laptop the problem was resolved.
