Hi

I have a batch of Dell 3190s which have just come in for re-imaging and can't do anything with them as the bios passwords are not working

I have the bios passwords starting Zvy4p and 6oran

Does anyone know of any others please?

Hi everyone, I am in the same position with our Dell 3190’s. The passwords I have do not work and I can not log into the system because the person who ordered them has left! If someone could send them to me that would be very helpful! Thank you Edited by Glenn45
Forgot to ask for someone to send them!

Ok, I have the correct BIOS but now need the local admin account password. Like previous posters, the person who ordered the laptops no longer works here and we can't get in the DFE site to see them.

Are the local admin passwords generic or individual to each computer? If generic, does anyone have one for the Dell 3190s?

Can anyone PM me the bios password please? I've taken over from another technician and have no info on the laptops. I'm attempting to re build them and then ran into this problem.

you will need to find out who ordered them, they may have a list of the bios passwords. Seeing as its your first post, I don't think you will get much joy here without proving you work for a school.

Get the school to contact the ex technician, they will have details as they would have paid him\her.

Then its a track and trace job if the tech has moved on.

You can’t expect someone to work for free for their old employer.

That's not what I said, or was implying,

In most cases its a polite call from one tech to another.

I have been called myself its no problem, but its up to the last person in the job if they want to be helpful, granted some don't but I am not one of them.

I have a good memory and generally remember most stuff I have implemented or learned.

If things have changed and should be or I have forgotten, then that's it.

There is no harm in being helpful.

Sorry to resurrect an oldish thread. Noticed latly all of our dells won't image correctly with the latest win 11 22h2 build nothing in the task sequence has changed just the os iso, use a clone of the task sequence with the older 21h2 win 11 iso works as normal. Anyone else seen this?

Is the BIOS up to date? I haven’t seen it with this specific device but have others. BIOS updates fixed the issue.

Honestly hadn't check just assumed this model of DfE device was like any of the other ones they sent that was just bodged together so didn't really have any updates. Will check and see.

Yes seems so, only had one of our engineers test it so far but as soon as they did that the build completed successfully to finish. I'll be testing a couple tomorrow myself.

Excellent.

What do you use to build? I have used SCCM and I include a BIOS update as part of the build process. Makes things a touch easier.

Also sccm never put a bios update Into a build might have a look as we have a fair few of these across the estate so might make things easier.

I standardise on drivers and bios revisions across all devices. Makes things a little more predictable.

Hello,

Very late to this particular party, but we've inherited a school with lots and lots of these Dell Latitude 3190's supplied by the DfE. The link that I have been provided to access the BIOS passwords from Computacenter no longer works. I'm wondering if anybody would be so kind as to DM me the BIOS password or bypass technique so that I can reimage these?

TIA.

Hi all,

As many others have had, one of our schools has 'found' a few Dell machines that haven't been erased and imaged, so wondered if anyone could please send the BIOS password for a Dell 3190? We've tried a BIOS password from another school, but that hasn't worked unfortunately. :(

Thanks,

Mark
