Intercaz Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Hi, Does anyone have any experiences of switching from SIMS to iSAMS they're willing to share, or any general pros and cons of iSAMS / things you wish you knew beforehand? Thanks
ticker Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Hi We did the swap 3 years ago, happy to share our experience. DM me and we can set something up for a chat. 1
RLR Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 Looking into this at the moment. Any information would be great or if anyone knows of any other threads.
titch Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 Also looking to do the same. OP did you ever make the jump?
titch Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 If any of you guys would like, or be willing to have a chat that would be great.
ticker Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 Happy to have a chat and set either a phone or video call up. Just DM me your details.
RLR Posted November 11, 2021 Posted November 11, 2021 I think this will be useful. I'll get back to you when I've spoken to a couple of others and organise a call.
moeadmin Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 Bumping this back up as this is something I am currently looking into. Has anyone had any recently experience with the move? Or even in the last few years?
vikpaw Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 Doing a couple in the group now. If you get a dump of the DB, iSAMS can assist in extracting the info into their standard CSV import templates for review. Should have a first look at imported data in a few weeks so can flag any issues. 1

Comedygold Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 Just doing this now, found out that linked documents do not migrate over, unless you purchase other software ....
vikpaw Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 Just doing this now, found out that linked documents do not migrate over, unless you purchase other software .... We asked for a dump of the DMS. If you have the files and a spreadsheet that links the files to the student ID then iSAMS can import it. The issue we've found is that the docs aren't immediately available in iSAMS for a parent to see, you have to do something weird like click on it once manually for it to quasi-publish and then it's available. We're just looking at how to make that process easier / do it en masse. 1
Malikwalian Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 We moved to iSAMS from SIMS in January this year. I am happy to answer any questions you might have.
