[mdt] Media and Database?

Good afternoon all

 

I have a few questions about two of the functions in advanced configuration in MDT.

What is the purpose of Media and what is the purpose of the Database?

The database allows you to have a list of "known computers" (by mac address) that have pre-defined task sequences/application deployments, so when you come to reimage them you already have the right name, applications, rolls, etc set.

Not sure about the media.

Media allows you to create bootable task sequence media to deploy without a network boot, and in some cases without network access at all!
