howartp Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 Hi Does anyone have any problems with Sophos Central (Server Endpoint with Intercept-X) running on the SIMS server, or any additional exclusions over and above the automatic SQL 2016 ones Sophos puts in? We've had Central for 18 months but I think I got fed up of it causing problems when we rolled it out, so we disabled it back then. With Cyber Essentials, we turned it back on on servers last month - but the server is running like a dog and we have to reboot it every few days as nobody can get into SIMS. VM is 16GB with SQL limited to 12GB, which has been fine until we put Sophos back on.
Koldov Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 We run it as I asked on here before I installed it and I seem to remember this thread had nothing bad to say about it. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/security/221402-sophos-intercept-x-server-advanced.html#post1895618 We don't run our SIMS server on a VM though and although I didn't add any exceptions, it hasn't stopped anything working that I know of and nobody has complained about it being slow...
Cat_Jam148 Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 Have been running Sophos Server and Intercept X on our SIMS Server VM for a couple of years now and not had any problems. Did plan to add exceptions to include the SIMS & FMS folder and whatnot but didn't notice any slowdown so decided not to add them. We have about 25 workstations accessing SIMS & FMS at any one time.
ITGuyNW Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Dragging up an old thread.. Has anyone experienced any recent issues before I go ahead and put endpoint on a SIMS server?

Jaan Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 We're no longer using SIMs, but we had the same issue...... iirc we had to disabled on access scanning on the "SIMs" folder......but allow it on write..... it was a while back. But is wasn't an exception rule..... not sure if that helps
colly72 Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 No issues here - we have a/v and Intercept X on our SIMS server, with all recommended settings turned on.
DrCheese Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Have Sophos/Intercept X on our SIMS server - No issues with all the Sophos best practises turned on
