Hi,

We have a classroom with a 2nd gen Activboard. We have an issue where activ calibrate keeps popping up repeatedly every 10-15 mins. This occurs if teacher completes the calibration or cancels it off. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Drivers had been done (it's the unofficial driver with it being a 2nd gen board - needed following some Windows updates causing a blue screen). I've reinstalled Activ Inspire today although the department this room belongs to only use Powerpoint. I've given the board a once over and there's no obvious damage/rogue tinsel from Christmas. The proof will be in the pudding!

Hi,

Can I ask what firmware the ActivBoard is running according to ActivManager?

Thanks

I'll get this shortly for your reference. However, on revisiting the room, the USB cable was very taut and looked like it was only forming a partial connection on the back of the board. After letting some cable out, it seems to have settled down but we're keeping an eye on it.

Hi,

Thanks about the firmware. Will keep an eye out for it.

Glad to hear that the ActivBoard seems to be behaving better.

Hopefully that continues to be the case.

Thanks

Thanks for that.

So it would appear that the firmware is not entirely up to date.

If the issues persist, I would suggest getting in touch with our support team who can help troubleshoot them and explain the firmware update process if required.

Thanks

What version of Windows 10 are you on?

We're running 1909 and all our Gen 2 boards are running the 5.7.22 Driver and not had any BSoD or calibration popups occurring.

Have you tried connecting a laptop or another base unit in to see if the issue is actually with the Board and not something strange going on with the PC?

Thanks for the tips. I'll check the firmware and get a laptop rigged up to it if I can without getting in the way of the teachers.

We've recently gone to 20H2 but the BSoD was occurring from 1909 onwards throughout the site and we ended up installing the unofficial driver referenced here - AC1, AC2, ActivHub, ActivSlate, ActivExpressions BSoD Windows 10 1903 – Promethean Community (prometheanworld.com)

I can't rule out this PC in particular but worth noting that our teacher desktops (HP all in ones) are the same model in every room and we have other 1st/2nd gen boards dotted around that are working without issue. Worst case scenario is that I have a newer board we can put up which wouldn't be the end of the world as this one is EoL.

Alas, the teachers lost patience with it so we've changed the board before I could work through any more steps. I'll keep an eye out and refer back to this if our other older boards have the issue but they are end of life so c'est la vie :-(
