Start Menu - how do you do it? / pain points

Time limited call for feedback. It looks like Microsoft are soliciting thoughts and experiences around how we manage the Start Menu:

bring back nested folders. That is our most common complaint.

The old (working) way of creating a redirected Start Menu folder worked fine - we can still do this for redirected Desktops. This is why in combination with GPOs, Classic Shell works really well!

If not can someone request the following on my behalf, please?

 

Allow redirected start menus to be just that, without enforcing additional items from the local machine that we then have to find convoluted ways of removing. If we want/need them, we can include them in the redirection folder.

Also, have an easier way of creating and updating redirected tile menus using a GUI, rather than having to manually edit xml files.

I think they intend for people to use the actual start menu as the GUI and then export the layout.

Whatever it is, needs to be manageable with GP natively and without touching Powershell.

I get that, and it's OK for initial deployment, but not if I want to make any changes for specific groups of users in specific locations.

It feels like they are phasing out GP entirely. It seems all half-finished and semi-abandoned.
