Do HP printers censor words ?

Hi,

we recently had some students scrawl racist graffiti over a wall and one of our staff took a photo before it got removed.

 

When printing the photo ( in Windows 10 / photo gallery and photo viewer) the print came out with the racist words removed ( a white box appeared where the words were) . The words were scrawled badly so we were surprised the software picked these up . The printers were HP laserjets pros and we eventually printed it on a Ricoh printer.

 

Do the HP printers censor what is printed? I wasn't aware of this and if we need to to get round this is there a way?

 

I guess I'd leave the restriction on as it could potentially stop students printing nefarious stuff.

Never known anything like that unless you have some third party software running if anything such exists. More likely down to recent issues with updates.
