How many schools still on Office 2013?

Just wondering how many schools are still on Office 2013?

 

I have a school on 2019, one on 2016 and two on 2013, but I dont see any big differences between the different versions that is worth my 2 schools updating from 2013, appart from the EOL updates issue

Security updates would be a big one.

I think the biggest improvements that have been made with the newer versions are how closely it integrates with Office 365. Office 2019 is leaps and bounds ahead of 2013 in that respect. If you're using modern authentication and conditional access, it could be a factor.

 

Depends on how heavily your schools are bought into the Office 365/Azure AD side of things.

Those schools are G Suite schools but SIMS still needs MS office :-(

There didn't seem to be many differences IIRC between 2013 & 2016 for the end-user, but maybe more in the background or added features most people here don't use.

 

I did the upgrade years ago from 2013 to 2016 and nobody even batted an eyelid, they didn't even realise it was a new version....

2013 on 8.1

2016 on Windows 10

 

Plan is to put everything on Windows 10 and Office 2019 in the summer (although this was planned for last year and didn't happen due to Covid-19)

We upgraded to 2019 back in 2019 (heh), and more recently switched to the 365 install.

Outside of 365 integration, the most noticeable thing I've seen from the end user POV is that 2019 has better spelling/grammar checker (and a weird obsession with hyphenation), and better narration/dictation options - if any of that matters to you.

If your licensing allows, I see no reason not to upgrade.
