Ipad Ethernet adaptor - do any work?

I have one that I used to be able to use to remove passcodes when the iPad had no wifi.

It hasn't worked recently, and I assumed it was because the iPad was locked but I've just tried it on an unlocked iPad and it doesn't appear at all. Previously I would get an Ethernet Option appearing underneath the Wifi Settings.

 

Does anyone have an adaptor that works, specifically when the iPad is locked?

You need to push the MDM profile to disable USB Restricted Mode. Doesn't help you with your locked iPad but will get you out of a jam in future - your previous method should then work (it does for us).

I can now see the Ethernet in Settings but it's not picking up an IP address. I'd love to get this working as it's would save so much hassle going forward, but its very frustrating! Edited March 19, 2021 by Bev

Ethernet probably won't enable while the device has a WiFi connection.

We still have one setup and used it just now to remove a passcode. Is the port your connected setup on the correct vlan? Is it possible it's not getting an IP because it might be on a vlan that doens't get a DHCP address?
