Google Meet - Full screen Powerpoint

Hi all,

 

I'm pretty new to the GSuite environment (last couple of weeks) and I've got a couple of users who are saying that their Meet experience with full screen Powerpoint presentations has changed.

 

Their previous process was they'd open Powerpoint, share the window and then when they went into full screen mode, it would share that too. Now it only presents the main Powerpoint window.

 

I understand that full screen mode and the main window are two different windows but I just wanted to know if Meet has some way around this and detects when the presentation moves to full screen mode and something has gone wrong or it's just a coincidence that a couple of users have reported a change in behavior at the same time.

I've got one user reporting issues using Powerpoint in full-screen mode when using breakout rooms - when he starts a breakout room, visits it, then goes back to the main session Powerpoint stops presenting full-screen and doesn't let him restart. It sounds like Powerpoint is loosing track of which window it should be mirroring, then having problems rec onnecting - maybe it thinks it's still connected?

I initially thought of that but unfortunately they use a writing tablet for annotating slides so reading view or the individual use option are out the window because they don't have the pen tools (not entirely sure why!). Viable work arounds are either staying in edit more and using the pen tools tab or teaching them how to use Alt+Tab. It was more to try and gauge whether something had changed in functionality that I wasn't aware of.

Hi, I've got a couple of teachers saying this as well, and one of them has a recorded lesson from 14th January that shows it working. This is using Office 2019, but when I try it with Office 365 from my home computer it works like it used to. I'm on latest versions of both.

Having the same issue.

 

Work around was going full screen alt tab and share the second full screen power point.

 

Bizarrely only one user had reported it.
