It's ok for us

What I think is happening is that it checks for the entitlement once every day. Every time someone starts SIMS the client checks the last checked date and if it isn't set to today, it does the check and updates the date, stopping later clients from checking with the entitlement service. If the entitlement server is down (as appears to have happened the last 2 Thursdays), SIMS sets the last checked date and assumes you're not licensed for the day. The patch sets the last checked date to yesterday, forcing the first client opened after running it to check the entitlement again. As long as the server is working at that point, it'll see you're licensed, set the date to today and it won't check until tomorrow. This is why leaving it overnight worked, because they'd sorted the server during the day yesterday. I assume the cutoff is actually about 7am, which explains why people opening it early on Thursday didn't get the message and those opening early today did, until it rolled over. This is all just educated guessing though.

I threw caution to the wind and didn't kick them out but I've always been a bit of a cool rebel.

Hello I need to get a third quote for some tablets and I have so far been ignored by 3 of our usual companies. Could someone recommend someone to give me a quote? It's for: 27x Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 (SM-T500) 3x 10 Port USB Charging Station (Like this - https://www.lindy.co.uk/usb-c4/10-port-usb-charging-station-p9828 ) Thank you

Hi, I've got a couple of teachers saying this as well, and one of them has a recorded lesson from 14th January that shows it working. This is using Office 2019, but when I try it with Office 365 from my home computer it works like it used to. I'm on latest versions of both.

Ta, that's put my mind at ease that we're not being fobbed off at least

Hello Could someone using 3cx with around about 100 extensions have a look at their memory usage of the 3cx management console (as found in Dashboard>Services) and let us know what it is please? Ours starts at about 200MB after a restart but then grows to 1.2GB after a day or so. Our support company says that's normal for a system with this many extensions but it seems off to me. Many thanks

I bought these Logitech Z120 for £11.99 back in 2013, now up to £14 unfortunately. They're powered by USB but audio from 3.5mm - if I had these anywhere near even halfway my office mates would be annoyed, so that's good enough for me.

Yeah, only internal messaging there.

Hello We have recently moved from Bromcom to SIMS. Is it just us who finds the emergency alert a bit useless? It seems that the people receiving the alerts need to have the home page open and they only get an alert when the page refreshes - the default seems to be 5 minutes and I can't change it (greyed out). This is supposed to be an emergency alert, not a 5 minutes later alert. Is there a way to make this decent? Or is there an alternative system we could use? (*cough* free would be nice*cough*) To be clear, we want a button a teacher can press that sends a message instantly to 2 or 3 computers so an on-call member of staff can be dispatched.

Thank you! I realise now if I'd done a cursory search I'd have got the answer. I hadn't had time to research at all but just happened to see this thread

Hi We're getting this too - did you find the cause? For me they work fine at home on Office 365 (installed, not web) but in school not (Office 2016). Told them to save as PDF for now if editing by other people is not needed.

I will work on a 64bit version 'soon', probably before September as we might be needing 64bit Windows on the ICT PCs then, but it's not something I've looked in to yet, with the exception of changing the paths in emah.exe for dnlees last week. -

Could they be using different accounts? To be honest our students have only just started using it en masse so I don't know how much use from home it's getting. We've also had to set up Google Apps for Education to get them all Google accounts to log in - because now if they try to create their own they get asked for a mobile number. -

I'm wondering if it's creating it, failing to run diskpart for whatever reason and then deleting it - try commenting out line 62 objFSO.DeleteFile(strFilename) and running it again and seeing if the file is there and what's in it. Are you getting any errors? There's probably something in there that's specific to our setup, but this worked on our CC4 network and now on our vanilla, so I don't know what it would be. -

Can your students access command prompt? The aiStarter program seems to need this to check for what devices are connected.
