No we get to do 3 sets of tests from the 8th within a 2 week window, unless schools choose to bring students back in earlier than that

So the students are coming back and into class completely un-tested? Sure, I can't see any problems with that....

No, the students turn up in a pre-arranged order and get tested. Only when they have a -ve test do they get released to the classroom. Two further in school tests follow, then they are let loose with "home testing".

 

We've got nearly 2000 students to test, three times each. We will do it but it's going to take a lot of planning and a lot of staff support.

I think that's my "favourite" part of this. Let's say someone doesn't do the test. Or tests positive but decides they don't want to isolate or their self-employed parents decide they can't afford to so they ignore it. Or fancies a few weeks off school so gets their positive mate to do the test for them. What then?

I find it interesting that it says in the instructions - "Do not copy and paste email address or mobile numbers into the spreadsheet. This may cause the upload to fail. Instead, you need to type the information into the boxes."

 

I wonder if having your data sanitised correctly beforehand (to remove things like random spaces before/after an email, making sure the number is in the correct format) and then pasting as plain text would be fine. Manually typing emails & numbers is just asking for errors.

I wondered similar. Our master spreadsheet for recording results (which we'll now swap to this one) has some links set up to pull data automatically from the consent record spreadsheet. I suspect we can do the same with the DfE template.

Welcome to the wonders of logistics, and until the 4th test is done they should be wearing a mask in a classroom if unable to keep 2m distance from each other (as if that is possible) so it's going to be an interesting March.

 

We're having to relocate our current setup from a nice warm dance studio to a Sports hall with limited network connectivity so at least the spreadsheets with 100 records at a time means we don't need to get loads of devices in there to use to register the test.

 

We are pre-populating the spreadsheet with a dedicated school e-mail address and a school number apparently, so that will be interesting as well

I'm going to drop into the webinar tomorrow to see but I read it like this too.

 

So presumably after Easter school won't do it anymore and staff will do self tests too. It is a bit weird as they were asking if we needed more flow tests the other week.

 

We have kids on site so we'll probably keep mass testing those.

I've just done our first excel template upload.

 

Obviously you should follow their advice but...

 

I pasted ours in as plain text and it works, some of the fields are drop downs so it has to validate what has been inputted (like the ethnicity)

 

I thought there might be an issue as I pasted in the emails as plain text but when you type it then it shows it as a hyperlink but its fine.

 

Its actually quite nice.

 

Only issue I have is one of our barcode reader add a ~ at the front and I haven't managed to get rid of it but I have a spare and you can't upload the spreadsheet the day before as the date of test is validated too. Strangely you can upload the day before if you do individual uploads.

 

Seems alot of work for 3 tests.

We've written some quick and dirty php scripts to record our student and staff tests into a MySQL database, which will then export a csv of all the results, as well as giving summary analysis on screen (happy to share)
