carphone warehouse and online contracts

does anybody know if carphone warehouse can renew contracts that are online?

for example i'm on an o2 online 35 contract, which even the o3 store said they couldn't match when i got it. my contract is nearly up and i want to upgrade my handset and carry on with o2. i know carphone can renew normal contracts as they did for my girlfriend, but not too sure if they can do online ones. just curious as if they can i'll try to get there before closing time tonight.

Speak to a rep over the phone MK-2. I was complaining to them over a different matter, and wanted to cancel everything and they put me through to retentions.

 

So, if you can't get the deal you want from the rep, ask to be put through to retentions and they have loads more power over contracts.

 

I got an XBox 360 out of them last time and a new phone and a better contract.

an o2 rep? i've tried calling twice now and got told 'sorry our systems are down please call back another time'

Are you with O2 or O2 CPW? There is a difference I beleive.

Don't do it! In my experience, Carphone Warehouse will promise you the earth on an upgrade, but then not actually bother to do what they say. I was promised credits to make my line rental £5 a month, but they never did it, and now they won't give me the overpayment back - they'll only credit to the phone account!

 

I'd go direct to O2 mate - much safer in my opinion!

On a similar note you can get some really good deals from CPW. I recently talked to them about an upgrade and managed to get 500 texts and 400 minutes for about £3 a month if I claim back. I don't get a new phone however but that doesn't bother me.

Absolutely, that's what I was saying. They'll offer you the earth, it's actually getting it in practice that seems to be the issue. You may be OK if you have to claim the cash back - my problem was them actually 'remembering' to give me automatic bill credits they had promised. YMMV, but I'm getting the hell out of there once this contract is up - whatever they offer.

ive got an o2 contract from dial a phone with a free ps3! 600 mins and 500 texts 35 p/m but its 18 month contract. then i'll cancel and get a better contract

nope, n95 8gb.

ive had two sony ericssons so far from o2. my original w850i which kept switching off, they then replaced it with a w880i, which is stupidly small for me. but thats now doing the same, turning off when you put it down or breathe near it!

so i decided to go for a slightly more hefty phone
