POLL - Would/Do you Have all your drives in the cloud ?

Hi All

so i asked the question who stores their files in share point , i suppose what i should have done is this

 

 

1) we have all our files/drives in the cloud and are happy

2) some drives but not all

3) would happily do it if they would let us

3) unsure

4) wont touch it for another few years to see how others get on with it

5) tried it, gave up and returned to local

6) using it but wouldn't advise it

All our teachers have their files in the cloud (google drive) whilst office admin and business manager/SLT have local drives, eg. office drive, Finance documents, etc.

All our staff have Onedrive and SharePoint Shared storage in addition to the onsite Shared Area. We're trying to move more resources into the cloud, but will probably always have some on-site storage for things that either require high security or low latency access.

Staff have access to Sharepoint/Onedrive, but at the moment we are using the traditional on prem file servers for home drives and areas. I plan to move to onedrive next time we are due a server refresh or to the point we run out of onsite storage

All user homedrives using OneDrive. All staff shared areas on SharePoint, excluding a multimedia file server share.

Since deploying Drive File Stream to staff machines, we've seen a steady but organic shift of staff using Drive rather than the traditional network shares, which are all still available as before. Our teaching staff work from laptops, and remote access is via RDS rather than a VPN, so having Drive File Stream has been a bit of a game-changer for teaching staff, who are increasingly just working out of 'G:' the whole time.

 

We gave a bit of guidance about how best to organise Shared Drives (aka Team Drives), but other than that have just left departments to sort things out for themselves as they see fit.

HI all thanks for the replies , is there any secondary schools in Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire who wouldn't mind us visiting to see how they (staff and teachers) are getting on with teams ?
