Can anyone tell me what the church of england ethos is?

Sorry been watching Eddie Izzard recently.

 

 

Their ethos? Serving the community (as you can see from the many CofE schools around the country) is one part of it I think.

I have a job interview in a school which has "The church of england ethos" in its job description.

 

Can anyone she any light.

Religious schools are able to give preference in employment to teachers whose religious beliefs are in accordance with the religious tenets on which the school is based.

As Far as I know, this only applies to teachers. So The Job Advertisement may not be legal under employment equality laws.

I work at a catholic school but am anglican (Church of england) myself. The job description highlighted the catholic ethos and in the interview I was asked about my feelings on their catholic ethos. I just blathered for a few minutes on how much i respected the use of a guiding religous ethos and how applicable it was to a school situation. Smiles all around.

 

Read up on the anglican church or better still find as many school as possible which are c of e and read their websites.
