I've claimed the licenses from LGfL and signed into the admin portal, but in all honesty I'm a little confused. I sent an email to LGfL asking for clarification earlier in the week, but haven't had a reply so far... In the admin portal it doesn't really seem to make it very clear exactly what we're entitled to (let alone find, customise and download installation packages). I know they are trying to upsell, but some apps appear to be available only on Desktop, Mobile or Web and other apps appear to be only trials and it isn't very clear which relates to the LGfL offering (a bit like you can download anything you want in MVLSC, even if you're not licensed to use it)... It also says unlimited Spark licenses are available in the admin portal to claim but I can't find those. They do point you to a variety of 'onboarding' videos, but in the very first one the presenter said "click on settings" - I don't have that in my portal! Looking for a clear, black and white list of what we can use and on what device (these are user licenses, not device licenses). Edited October 9, 2020 by Koldov
willtech Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 (edited) Yup we have. On the Adobe admin Console home page you should have products show. This will tell you how many licences you have. We have linked ours to Azure AD makes life easy and keeps in sync. You get all the Apps with the user licence this covers MAC and PC and some mobile apps as well. Adobe Spark is web only https://spark.adobe.com/ You can make packages in the package menu to push out to devices but Users will need to login to use Adobe on the computers as it is a per user licences. Be aware that you can overprovision licences and LGFL will charge you for any licences you are over by. They do point you to a variety of 'onboarding' videos, but in the very first one the presenter said "click on settings" - I don't have that in my portal! This might be they have not given you the right permissions. Have you log in with the account that is in the form you submitted LGFL ? Edited October 9, 2020 by willtech 2

As you can see from the top line there is no 'package menu' and certainly no 'settings' menu. I can see however from 'Products > Details' all the included apps, it is only when I started looking in 'Personal Account' and 'My Plans' and things like that the choices seemed to be very limited when I clicked on 'Creative Cloud Home' and then saw what was 'Available in your subscription' - I couldn't really reconcile the two... all the main ones seem to be suggesting they are a trial? So there is my confusion (do I have to apply some sort of license to myself?).

Looks like you haven't been set up with the right permissions by LGFL to create packages either. 1
Koldov Posted October 16, 2020 Author Posted October 16, 2020 If anyone is still with me... Ok, so I thought I had done pretty well so far! I contacted LGfL who sorted out my little admin problem and now have full access in the Adobe console. I managed to navigate through connecting it to our GSuite and have all my users synced, I also got them into their respective 'User Groups' and assigned all the users their respective product profile. Now, the final hurdle is choosing what kind of installation (Enabled Self Service or Enterprise Deployment) and deployment method to get the package onto the machines (we don't use SCCM or any other deployment method apart from GPO). I don't necessarily want to choose what they can and can't use (as I figure we've got the licenses so why not let them choose) also less headache for me, but I also don't want everyone to install every possible app from Adobe just because they can and have all the headaches that might come from that...
fiza Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 At our place only the Art Dept and Photography students use it so we asked the head of Art which apps she wanted and then created a package with those and deployed via PDQ. There is an MSI in the package so I guess you could use GPO to deploy. 1

Book the room for a few hours or disable the automatic shutdown at night, run a script that triggers each install in turn. Before starting the install, copy the source locally. But it's an extra, included bonus really and a way for Adobe to upsell, plus we get Spark for all the children so I'm just going to use the licenses for the Admin/SLT and the Teachers to help them create resources (?) instead of downloading everything from 'you know where'... Anyway, to get started I would just like to do something really simple like get 'Adobe Acrobat' installed on my Business Manager's PC, just so I can at least justify my hours of Googling all the options last week... When I mentioned it to him he at least seemed interested, so I'd like to earn at least some points - you know, something they can actually SEE I'm doing (apart from the million things I do behind the scenes that nobody notices)... So, without SCCM, PDQ Deploy or any other wonderful pieces of software... I create the package including this app, chuck it on a USB and install it on his PC... yes? However, this will also install 'Creative Cloud Desktop Application' which will then allow him to download and install anything he wants, unless I go full SYSADMIN and choose something from the 'Managed Package' and then have to sort out if I want to deal with: updates (Remote Update Manager, Internal Adobe Update Server (AUSST)) and settings (Enable self-service Install, Allow non-admins to update and install apps, File Syncing, Enable Browser Based Login) etc.

My most recent purchase of Adobe licences was from Insight for £20.10 per licence per device per year - it's the standard Adobe Edu plan with a minimum purchase of 25 I think.

The LGfL 'Device Licenses' are under £20/device/year, but I'm not sure it's worth it for us. I'm just not sure what the uptake is going to be for the Adobe Suite for the age range of children at the school, let alone the teachers (we have nobody leading IT for the curriculum, no IT co-ordinator, nobody to push this forward or get anything organised - but that's another story for another thread)... Right now, I just need the easiest way to get one application installed on one computer (and to decide whether it is best to let them have free range or limit everything or just some things). As it appears I can't do this without installing the Cloud Console, I imagine I will have to do a lot of locking down either way, or find every teacher has the full Adobe Suite installed on their laptop and the network grinding to a halt on update day.... You can lock down the cloud console when creating the package, as well as set up an internal update server and/or disabling automatic updates. 1
