  1. I haven't been presented with a reCAPTCHA for some days. Just tried the site I was having issues with... Still broken. Might have to contact the site and get them to investigate it.
  2. No problem! I appreciate you taking the time to help. Yes, it does.
  3. No, the invisible proxy / bridge.
  4. Yes, but Chrome does exactly the same as Edge. Yes, but I excluded my IP so it isn't getting any filtering/inspection.
  5. Is anyone having issues with reCAPTCHA? I've been unable to access two sites protected by reCAPTCHA. Did someone turn me into a robot while I wasn't looking?
  6. Might be worth checking to seeing if Chrome has ephemeral profiles. 😡
  7. It was adding the cloud ones but still asking which profile to use. I have found out what caused the issue though. Ephemeral profiles. At some point in May 2023 I (not that I remember the decision) forced ephemeral profiles. Yesterday, that decision bit me in the ass.
  8. Yesterday afternoon I got the first ticket informing me that Edge was asking users which profile to use, where previously it loaded a default profile that was signed in with their AD account, and forced to sync. This only seems to be occurring for Windows 11 users. Any clues?
  9. Are you applying polices through Intune? If so, how are you finding that?
  10. Currently EES, however I know that is being phased out / will be phased out by the time we renew.
  11. Quick FYI: we use Wave9 and a Sophos firewall appliance. Very happy with their support.
  12. Quick straw poll: Do you subscribe to A3 or A5? Bonus appreciation points for reasons why. Edit to add: we are currently on A3, I wasn't party to the decision to upgrade from A1.
  13. I'm starting to see a rise in issues where various apps do not give the option to print to queues on a print server. When looking at the Settings > Devices > Printer & Scanners page, the printers are showing as they have been added. The network printers cannot be set as the default. Edge (and the Office apps) only show the standard local/software printers. Removing the network queue printers is fruitless. Interestingly when I logged on to the computer as the local administrator, I found Windows had added the printers, an impressive feat as the local administrator shouldn't have access to the queues to be able to add them. Again, using settings to remove the printers was fruitless. I deleted the devices (printer queues) from Device Manager, but they were added back again almost instantly. The only way I could get rid of them was to stop the spooler service, and then delete the relevant entries from the registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print). Has anyone else experienced this behaviour from Windows? Better still, does anyone know what Windows is playing at, and how to stop it?
  14. Thank you! This is what I said in response to the user's request for help. The LA just keep telling us it should work and it's not their fault.
  15. They are a neighbour LA, so we definitely never had addresses from them. The cynic in me thinks this is a ploy by the department sending the email because if we don't answer it they make assumptions that would appear to benefit them.
  16. Still can't get in. Does this look like something could be misconfigured on our tenant? Request Id: 0288b80e-1b62-474e-aef7-f1736c2fd700 Correlation Id: 1f1283c7-208a-4918-868d-b630445238b4 Timestamp: 2023-11-27T09:29:48Z Message: AADSTS90072: User account 'email address' from identity provider 'https://sts.windows.net/59ee22e4-2fca-4f6d-86d0-2a2fabecce72/' does not exist in tenant 'Local Authority' and cannot access the application 'd3590ed6-52b3-4102-aeff-aad2292ab01c'(Microsoft Office) in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Sign out and sign in again with a different Azure Active Directory user account
  17. That didn't occur to me to check. TBH I'm not sure what alias it could have gone to to get to the users it went to, but it worth checking. Thanks.
  18. Please excuse my inexperience with most things Microsoft cloud related, I've been working more with on-site OS and application deployment than anything cloud related for far too long. We have received a number of email from a local authority that they have sent as rights protected. The right protection requires our users to authenticate against the LA's tenant. When the user enters their school email address and password to try to authenticate the error we get back (translated by me) says the account (user's school email address) is not recognised and as such is not authorised to use the rights protection {GUID} application. We have reported this back to the sender but they keep saying we should be able to read the emails if we log in. Are there any settings on our tenant that would stop the LA's tenant authenticating one of our users and allowing that user access to the rights protection app?
  19. They are definitely legacy product and not compatible with Windows 10 versions higher than 1903.
  20. Quick query about the Activeslate 60 Are they compatible with Windows 10 versions higher than 1903?
  21. Setting Restricted across the board would murder the ability to use Server Manager let alone the BPA. Server 2022 (unless someone other than me changed the defaults) has the defaults like so: Scope ExecutionPolicy ----- --------------- MachinePolicy Undefined UserPolicy Unrestricted Process Undefined CurrentUser Undefined LocalMachine RemoteSigned Server 2016 (unless someone other than me changed the defaults) has the defaults like so: Scope ExecutionPolicy ----- --------------- MachinePolicy Undefined UserPolicy Undefined Process Undefined CurrentUser Undefined LocalMachine Bypass
  22. On any/all servers running Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.20348.1607] the BPA scans fail due to the execution policy being overridden by one on a more specific scope. I've checked Group Policy, and Local Policy, neither set anything for Windows PowerShell in either the computer settings or the user settings. As further proof that it's not Group Policy, servers in the same OU (same user logged in) run the BPA without issue. Has anyone else experienced this? Searches haven't turn up anything useful. (This was particularly useless.)
  23. Evil. I like it.
  24. We've had four of these fitted recently, they have been warmly received.

    Java IDE

We have 2 or 3 students that want to write their projects in Java (yes Java, not Java Script). They've mentioned https://www.eclipse.org/ide/ Does anyone have students using Java for their projects? If so, what IDE and JRE do you give them?
