Teams Open evening live event powerpoint

How's everyone doing this? Slt want to do a teams live event, show a ppt and have 4 slt talk over it. They want me as the producer to advance slides?

I'm thinking that should be one of the presenters?

Screen sharing a PowerPoint also seems a roundabout way of doing it aswell!.

Screen sharing of powerpoints is how public live events seem to work when we and others have tested it.

No reason why one of the presenters can't control the powerpoint as long as they are sharing their screen with it up.

Is the idea of your SLT to all be in different locations or are they all located in one room and just want you to advance the slides whilst they talk?

Yes I think they want to sit in separate rooms and talk over 2 or 3 slides each of a ppt.

Not much need for the producer role I suppose other than select the presenter who's sharing their screen?

Do SLT all intend on being on camera whilst talking over the ppt? If not it's a straight forward configuration. You control what goes to the viewers as the producer, one member of SLT shares their screen and control the ppt and you set the other members of SLT as presenters so they can all talk over the ppt.

If you want to go all out have a look at NDI feeds from Teams, then use something like OBS to control the event. Using OBS you can add lots of professional features, such as lower third titles for your speakers, smooth transitions, Picture by Picture etc... For the Powerpoint I usually save the slides as jpgs and run it as an image slide show in OBS. You can then broadcast via YouTube, MS Stream etc and record for later distribution.
