Hi

We've been using Chromebooks in school for a few years now and they've been really popular. We're now looking at rolling out BYOD in school, using Chromebooks.

Can you offer any words of wisdom? Does and don'ts? Recommendations for companies you've used - we want parents to buy/lease Chromebooks from them so we don't get bogged down in paperwork.

Are there any schools in the Leicestershire/Warwickshire area that currently offer BYOD that we could come and visit?

Thanks

Tracey

If you're not only specifying the operating system but the supplier and vendor, how is this BYOD? My personal suspicion is that you won't reduce the paperwork, just change it.

The BOYD element puts me on edge a bit, I think there needs to be a clear line of where support ends if the devices are not owned by the org, this to cover things like anything that is done to the device to fix an issue rendering it unusable.

There is a thread on here somewhere regarding the ownership rights of parents and the freedom of students/parents installing apps brought up by a DH.
