Hi,

I need to kit out a new block with 9 75" Touchscreen TV's.

Based on previous experience I was going to install CTouch Riva but our Finance Director had Promethean at her last school and is keen on those.

Any suggestions or comments?

Thanks,

Chris

They are all similar, do the school use certain software, like Activ Inspire or SMART?

If so I would go with that version of Panel as pricing from most registered bids will be competitive, depends on the model.

I was going to go for vestel until I had a quote from a promethean reseller who took my vestel quote to promethean and promethean matched the price. So much better promethean with all features got a lot more for my money

The 7 year warranty on the Ctouch should be a winner for the finance director, TCO and all that.

We've standardised on clevertouch because of the included Lynx software which has android,. iPad and PC software as well as built in to the board and no damn annual licence fee!

Pretty much standard on every panel now.

Chris,

Happy to help if I can. We have a range of 75" interactive touchscreens all with 5 year on-site warranty, all are 4K and have an accounts system, the RP series also has an anti-bacterial coating. All of them also entitle to you a piece of Windows software called Oktopus which will allow you to open .iwb & .notebook files. If I can be of any further assistance or support please let me know.

Chris.

Do others aside from CleverTouch offer an MDM management tool?

Curious why they choose the magnifying glass as freeze icon and a blue key in the remote?

On a side note I was unaware for this business practice that the first installation company that asks for a quote locks competitive pricing versus the others.

Both Promethean and CleverTouch left good impressions on their warranty response times.

Bit late to the party, but we standardise on Iiyama touchscreens for 65, 75 and 86" models. No use of any onboard software, just Microsoft Whiteboard if needed or marking up of documents / browsers etc via Win10.

Hi

We're currently looking at these. Are they still working well in school for you? Our Maths department need to use SMART notebook on them, I don't suppose you use that too?

Thanks

Hi TMBS,

Still using the Iiyama touch, still working fine (mind you they haven't had much use over the past year so.......!)

I've heard they're about to release a new model so there may be some bargains to be had on the older model if they're looking to move old stock. Keep your ear to the ground!

As for SMART notebook - to my knowledge we don't use it apart from in the School of Education, with SMARTboards. Our Maths department are using much more advanced software - it's called chalk

Hi SamDavis

Thanks for the info, any reduction in price would be good! Can you point me to the Chalk software you mentioned? I've had a Google but can't find, is it an install or URL?

Has anyone used the BenQ Education RE7501? Would be interested in any feedback. Thanks

Sorry - you'll get used to my sense of humour....

New Maths department with god knows how much spent on kit, yet they still insist on using Chalkboards and refuse to use touchscreens or visualisers. End result, everything covered in chalk dust after 6 months and looks like it's 20 years old already.

Hi, happy to provide a remote demo on the RE7501 or if required an onsite demo. On the RE7501, instead of integrated soundbar/pen tray you have built in speakers and magnetic pen tray and the panel is 4K UHD but the Android runs at 1080p and is upscaled. If I can help at all or if you have any further questions please let me know.
