Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone could help, has experienced this, etc...

I have installed and configured HAP on a fresh install of Server 2019. Everything went ok until I logged in (sorry for the quality, my phone had issues trying to focus):

Added to that, after logging in, if you actually manage to log out, the next time you log in, it takes a very long time...

Any assistance and or advice that you would be able to share, would be greatly appreciated :)

I';d hazard a guess at the version of .net - ours is running 2016 but I recall having to make sure to download the older version of .net framework 4.5 rather than what's supplied with the OS and then making sure to change the application thingy in IIS to suit

Thanks mate, just tried to download dotNet 4.5 but Windows server is saying that it's already installed and blocked the installation. Went into IIS, the dotNet version is v4 and it will not let me change it (as that is the only version available to use) :(

I have just fixed this, you need to turn off the resource booking module in the admin side. Fixed the issue for us. You might be able to quickly hit the admin config if you are lucky, else you will need to remove it from the config file.

Ive had it before but i cant for the life of me remember what i did. I think i ditched the install and started again from scratch.

Im sure its something to with the announcement.

Have you made the correct changes to the web.config file?

Sorry this hasn't helped.

Yeah, that's the guide that I've followed from the beginning... I'm trashing the 3rd server and starting again... This time I'm trying 2016 but with all updates and then doing the site (like I did with the first 2019 server)...

HAP.PNG was under the homepage bit for us, just clicked the cross next to booking system and it stopped it from loading in an infinite loop.

HAP+ is working for us now (we're just testing a few accounts to make sure) - is there a way of limiting access so only certain year groups have access (all out students are in security groups for their year), just wondering how much bandwidth this could eat up if we allow all 1200 students access on our 200Mbps pipe?

Blimey, sorry guys been madness over here! If you set up for just a security group ("HAT-HAP" has a nice ring to it!) then that'll probably take the pain out of it.

We don't get a massive amount of concurrent users although our single RDP also hosting HAP is struggling a little, so will be clustering it next week but I think the best plan would be to use network access policy on the server to limit bandwidth so it's not all munched.

As of 9:35 this morning we're only consuming 9.5MBps of bandwidth as a whole - 7 users on RDP (either full desktop or remoteapp SIMS) - and now as I type this out I realise I don't know how to check the amount of connections to IIS? :D

4 Server installs and alot of hair pulling and this sorted it out for it - started randomly deleting stuff until it worked, then reverted the web.config to undo each change... But thanks, hopefully this will help others who run into the same problem I did :)

We've already limited traffic to the server to only 50MBps, so that should help - don't want our whole connection to be eaten up :)

Im not sure why it causes issues but at least you got to the bottom of it

Just my luck, haha :D

However thank you for your guide, and getting me to the actual login of the HAP site... That saved me pulling out my hair 😊
