There was a bug the last two or three days that affected team editing in the backend that was fixed for us yesterday. All hunky dory now.

We've been suffering this from the third week of March, raised a ticket on 30/03/2020 and still don't have a resolution.

Assignments set in these Teams still reach the students so they aren't a total writeoff, but they still need fixing.

Since that ticket was raised I've managed to get in contact with someone on the SDS onboarding team who is keeping me updated.

Apparently 'lots of schools' are affected by this, and they've already tried deploying one fix which did not resolve the issue, and are now working on another.

There's nothing we can do but wait.

I've had roughly 10 teams out of 400 created at the same time show this error.

In every case they seem to have been Teams created with the name of a previous and long deleted team (it's only luck that I know that as I deleted the originals and noted them).

In all cases recreating seemed to be the simplest option.

I am having the same issue - it was working fine until last week then teachers are now experiencing this error.

Microsoft havent been very helpful so far - told me that it was just an issue with our 365 tennant - didnt think it was!

Anyone know of an easy fix? - ive got over 1,100 Teams - most of them created through SDS.

I've managed to get ours working - hopefully this will fix it for your schools?

I made a change to the messaging policy that I had assigned to the students - (Education_SecondaryStudent) then I re-applied the Policy Package (Education (Secondary school student)) to all the students. Teachers were then able to activate their Teams.

Even though all the students in an affected Team were displaying having the correct policy package/messaging policy assigned, i don't think they had been assigned correctly at the time - when there were provisioning issues at the start of remote working
