bjohnny42 Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 Has anyone got SIMS installed on Windows Server 2019 yet. Only need the workstation element of it. Solus is failing with errors despite all firewalls being off. Would a manual install work?
DJ-1701 Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 Strangely I have always had issues when turning the firewall off and using SIMS. Turning it on and adding these settings works on Windows 10: 52965:TCP (SIMS Solus-3-DS) 52966:TCP (SIMS Solus-3-Agent) 8739:TCP (SIMS Solus-3-Agent-UI) And allowing this program: C:\Program Files\Solus3\AgentService\Sims.Solus3.Agent.UI.exe That should be all it needs on 2019 as it's just the server version of Windows 10. 1
bjohnny42 Posted February 7, 2020 Author Posted February 7, 2020 We went old school.... Forget Solus Download the latest CD and then manually run. UpgradeFolder\Setups\Files SimsApplicationSetup.exe Our Setups folder on the server has an old version of setups files.. Seems to do the trick.
Guest Guest Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 We have it in our RDS Server (Server 2019) this was installed using SOLUS
3s-gtech Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 I’ve got it on two Server 2019 RDS hosts and it works without issue, deployed using SOLUS 3.
dapaulio Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 Have you installed sims workstation pre requisites. Run simsinfrastructuresetup.exe checking sims workstation in the install prompt wizard Check fms workstation also if you plan to deploy fms Then try rerun setup from solus. Otherwise run simsinst.exe manually These can all be found in s:\sims\setups
dapaulio Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 An addition pre req you need to enable .net 3.5 as well as 4
ITGURU Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 Deployed to our remoteapp server via solus. no issues
ass17 Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 Sims is not supported on 2019 server until the spring update.
ITGURU Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 Sims is not supported on 2019 server until the spring update. That's if you want to run SIMS server side in server 2019. client works fine on server 2019.
KevinB Posted February 11, 2020 Posted February 11, 2020 Sims is not supported on 2019 server until the spring update. Is that Windows Server 2019 or SQL Server 2019? Or both?
ass17 Posted February 11, 2020 Posted February 11, 2020 (edited) Is that Windows Server 2019 or SQL Server 2019? Or both? Sims have no plans as yet to support sql server 2019, they are still in the process of optimising queries for sql 2016. I think sql 2019 support may come in 2021 but may be by then sims will be fully online [emoji1787][emoji1787] Edited February 11, 2020 by ass17
