So MS Teams went down today....

Microsoft has determined that an authentication certificate has expired, causing users to have issues using Teams. They are developing a fix to apply a new certificate to the service to resolve the issue.

oh dear oh dear!!

Someone didn't put the certificate renewal date in their calendar. Maybe it was in there GMail calendar?

If only MS had a tool with a management pack for monitoring Certificates... oh wait they do SCOM :D

Despite Incident TM202916 claiming to be resolved at 03/02/2020 8:30pm, we are still having issues with Teams (not displaying / accessible).

Within "Microsoft Teams Admin Centre", that didn't load initially - but is working now...typically our main 'Team' has an error next to it - call logged with Microsoft Support :pray2:

So quick update, MS have investigated and confirmed that Team affected has not been deleted (by anyone - i knew that). Now need to wait 24 hours for a sync to finish and (hopefully) restore the missing Team.

This reconfirms my apprehension of moving 'everything' to Office 365 in general.

I was setting up a client with teams on smartphones, have just implemented a change to allow it via condtional access and so on. It wasn't working and I just couldn't figure out WTF was going on. It's perhaps the first ever time it's been 'the system' and not me that was wrong :D

Crikey... feels like Microsoft are having issues (and incidents) galore with Office 365 services at the minute!

Whilst still waiting for our Teams issue to be resolved, we are now experiencing the 'opposite' of advisory EX202603 (Can't view shared calendars in Outlook on the web), as in we CAN view via the web but not via the Outlook client...

Plus I've noticed the latest incident, EX202989 (Inbox won't refresh in Outlook in the web)

Users first reported the inbox issue to me on Monday, only just seen it appear on the service status this morning!

A week on, and we are still experiencing one of our main 'Teams' being inaccessible! MS still investigating. In addition to shared calendars still not working on Outlook clients either (though work fine for Outlook on the web)

Not a good week to be an Office 365 user (thankfully only certain people use it, and we haven't migrated everything / everyone across! - yet)

was scheduled to have a meeting with one of our directors regarding emergency planning and using teams as a communication method - They ended up having to work from home that day. Doing the meeting over teams seemed such a good idea...

I notice Re: inbox refresh issue that Microsoft's latest update says that emails will appear within 5 minutes, is this their permanent fix. Have users got to live with up to a 5 minute delay on emails?!

My favourite comment regarding this issue was on Twitter, where someone said that its called Office 365, and as it's a leap year and 366 days then there wasn't an issue. :D

Though, forgetting certificates isn't particularly great. You would think they would have a procedure in place to make sure an expiring certificate was caught!

Another week has gone by, and we still have an issue with (a specific) Team. Numerous remote sessions, submissions of various PowerShell scripts etc to support and no nearer to getting our Team / Group working!

(We still have the issue of being unable to access shared calendars via Outlook client, which was the opposite of the issue they had over a week ago whereby shared calendars were not accessible via Web Outlook)

And the issue with having no access to one, specific (but very important) Team still continues.... Has now been escalated to Microsoft's Engineering Team.

With a lot of establishments and organisations contemplating using Teams for remote working / access, COVID-19 contingency etc. I wouldn't like anyone to experience similar to us (waiting 6 weeks now) especially as I suspect the amount of Teams used would be in the 100's if reflecting lessons, subjects etc.
