blong Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 Hello everyone our school has a couple View Sonic IFP7550-2 interactive boards. The freeze function lo longer works so i reached out to the company and they said they know it's a issue and will release a firmware update soon well that was back December 1st and still nothing. This is beyond ridiculous to leave people hanging on this. I was wondering if anyone else has this issues. I'm on firmware IFP7550-2_20191115_091502
MYK-IT Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 Hello everyone our school has a couple View Sonic IFP7550-2 interactive boards. The freeze function lo longer works so i reached out to the company and they said they know it's a issue and will release a firmware update soon well that was back December 1st and still nothing. This is beyond ridiculous to leave people hanging on this. I was wondering if anyone else has this issues. I'm on firmware IFP7550-2_20191115_091502Interesting... as although we have lots of IFP6550/7550-1 models whereby the freeze function works fine, last week we had some IFP6550-2 installed and did note that freeze function didn't work initially on one occasion. I'd thought it was angle of remote etc. at the time. I'll check ours again properly on Monday and I'll post back outcome / firmware version etc. If I'd read this post earlier, I could had checked on ViewSonic's stand whilst at BETT!
MYK-IT Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 Quick update from ViewSonic in relation to the freezing issue... liaising with our engineering team in Taipei, and firmware version 20191119 has a stability issue for the freeze function. A fix is being worked on for the next firmware release, and expected date is mid-February
blong Posted January 30, 2020 Author Posted January 30, 2020 Wow View Sonic really dropped the ball on this one. They told me on December 1st it would be out before Christmas then I contacted them on January 5th and they said it would be out January 25th. This is ridiculous
djskytv Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Our BVS 65 inch screens had a fix I-mirror .APK file that applied the freeze frame
nahtan Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 We’re currently looking to purchase some ViewSonic displays. Are you able to freeze from the remote? The only way we’ve noticed so far is by touching a button on screen.
nahtan Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 We can do it from remote Which button do you press? None of them jump out at me as a Freeze button!
djskytv Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 We use a derivative of viewsonic called BVS (same thing ish) our remote has freeze on it but never worked until the update
MYK-IT Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Latest update regarding new firmware: Due to the China Coronavirus issue, RD’s return back to the office has been delayed, expect to get the test version on 2/25. This goes through a testing phase and expect to release the new firmware version at the beginning of March. [/Quote]
Maus Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 Ooh we had this issue too! I don't know if it helped, but our findings in the end were that the button on the panel worked normal, while there was an issue with the handling of the button on the remote. Basically it acts as a toggle, but there's no cooldown for receiving a signal from it, so anything more than the shortest tap freezes and then immediately unfreezes. Once trained in the correct technique, our staff were happy.. far from a proper fix I know, but that's where we got to. I'll watch this also for any details on if they fixed this properly.
