fiza Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 We are looking into if we should enable the capability in our phone system to record calls. We can set a warning telling incoming callers that all calls are recorded via the Auto Attendant. What do we do for outgoing calls? Do Staff have to say 'this call will be recorded' for every call they make to external numbers? What do other schools/organisations do?
localzuk Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 Yes, if you record outgoing calls, you have to let them know, and let them know how the recording will be used. 1
mikeprice Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 You also need to record the date and time of all calls, along with extension and destination- otherwise retrieving the relevant call - possibly months later - is a real problem remember that once you start recording them you may have storage problems - and don;t forget GDPR and all that stuff 1
MatthewL Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 Also if recording outgoing calls how is the person reviving the call going to know it's been recorded?
Oakinno Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 See my comments on this thread. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/data-protection-information-handling/213472-recording-external-telephone-calls-gdpr-2.html
