mikeymike Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 all jobs seem to be midlands and further up north. there are schools down south as well so where are all the vacancies then. im getting well pi**ed off in my current job and looking to move on
Satch Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 I'm not looking for a job any more but I have noticed a downturn in job alert e-mails. Seems to be a lull currently there was loads between October and march but suddenly its just stopped. The only thing I can put my finger on is maybe uni leavers looking for jobs so there is an influx on the job market. I know exactly how you feel and have been there myself. If its of any help to anyone if you haven't stick your CV on, Sales Jobs, Retail Jobs, Marketing Jobs and more in London & the UK - workthing IT Jobs at CWJobs, the specialist for contract and permanent IT positions Totaljobs.com - Find jobs across the UK Find Jobs. Build a Better Career. Find Your Calling. | Monster.co.uk or contact an agency like Modis or Tekpersonnel lots of contracts in Liecester. Just make sure you update or bump your CV once a month to keep it top of the pile. My CV on monster got me an interview for who I work for now; Arqiva Solutions I'm with a Police force but not engaged in usual Technician dogs body printer stuff at schools but responsible for servers, touch screens, radios and other equipment that enable Police Officers to communicate. Lots of training and development. The job came to me. Working in education gave me a great start so many people in the private sector see education employees as under paid and highly skilled hard working creative people. I find it ever so strange that one minute I was at a RM conference listening to Russ send me to sleep about self assessment (sorry mate!) to now going to national forums on improving police communication systems. keep at it!
witch Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 We do get a few vacancies down here -but there isn't much out there. The problem is made worse because most people on Edugeek are from the midlands and north so we miss out on some 'heads-up' about vacancies, as anything they see are up there too There is never a lot here anyway and the pay is really bad
