I'm not looking for a job any more but I have noticed a downturn in job alert e-mails.
Seems to be a lull currently there was loads between October and march but suddenly its just stopped.
The only thing I can put my finger on is maybe uni leavers looking for jobs so there is an influx on the job market.
I know exactly how you feel and have been there myself.

My CV on monster got me an interview for who I work for now;
Arqiva Solutions
I'm with a Police force but not engaged in usual Technician dogs body printer stuff at schools but responsible for servers, touch screens, radios and other equipment that enable Police Officers to communicate. Lots of training and development. The job came to me.
Working in education gave me a great start so many people in the private sector see education employees as under paid and highly skilled hard working creative people.
I find it ever so strange that one minute I was at a RM conference listening to Russ send me to sleep about self assessment (sorry mate!) to now going to national forums on improving police communication systems.
keep at it!
