is it Possible to open a paxton door via a windows shortcut?

I'm just thinking out loud here.

Our office has paxton door access..... long office, door on one side, our desks on the other (not possible to move). we have a push to exit.

We get lots of knocks at the door.... which means we have to get up and walk to allow someone in......... i thought cool, i'll get my steps in.... it's got frustrating very fast!

it's been proposed that we have a "push to exit" button on our desks to allow access to the room if we're in there...... something like this:

does anybody know if it's possible to make a shortcut or action that allows us to open the door via a click of the mouse instead of installing new physical hardware?

The door is an external one, in a high use student area. Also the room needs to be secure due to the nature of stuff in here, so issuing access to the room other than it techs, cleaners SLT etc isn't an option.

Just wondering if there's a geeky fix to this as i can't see one! :D It's not really a problem. just thinking outloud

If it is Net2 system that you have, if you have the pro version of the software then there is a smartphone app that lets you open doors. I'm pretty sure there is also an api available if you want to write your own software for it.

In the main office here we just wired a switch onto each desk from the main door release - just used door bells mounted under each desk.

Here are the SDK example with the open door program made for you, just need to change the code to have login details and the serial number of the door.

It would be useful if i could have a pc version of the intercom handset so that when it's school holidays and no one is in reception we can access from any computer.
