Good morning.

I've just been copied into the attached (redacted) email claiming to be from Leeds City Council, but actually from LookedAfterCall which is the same company/group as TruancyCall.

Has anyone else had it, does anyone know about it / use it?

Regardless of whether it's legit, it's screaming at me of a totally inappropriate way of asking a school to send their data out of the blue to some organisation they might never of heard of.

They do give a .gov email address for questions, just sent from the wrong account really.

Option 3 would be a great time to use TOTP, both sides have a client for the same secret key, and one says the current number to other, then 30 second later the other says the new current number to the first.

Yeah it's legit. Seemed all absolutely fine until method 3 of collecting data; I hope there's more to it than just introducing themselves as that!

I thought that, too! Maybe a secret word, like the local radio station here has for when schools phone in to report snow closure or similar.

Looked After Call seems to be the most commonly used tool by Virtual Schools these days. We have their stuff on all our SIMS servers. Another one of the install and forget lot really.
