Cant log onto MAC using a Windows account

When I try to log onto our MACS with a windows connected account I get.

You are unable to log in to the user account "accountname" at this time.

Logging in to the account failed because an error occured

It is connected to the domain and I am using a valid account

I suspect it probably something I did not set correctly when I joined it to the Domain.

Does anyone have a walk through guide for joining MACS to a Domain?

I have removed and rejoined it to the Domain several times and still get the same result.

id is responding with stuff so it is connected to the Domain but users cannot log in.

Do you get the red circle to the right of the username field? Does it then turn green?
I am not seeing any circles, red or green but that could be down to how we have our login set up See screenshot

Not sure if related, but I have had issues accessing shares on Windows 10 devices from Macs... maybe there is something that is now breaking communication with the latest Windows OSes.

Does the time match on the Mac and your domain controller(s)?

Is there a valid computer account in active directory for the Mac?

Typically this error occurs when the computer cannot access the home folder, for example if there is a home folder path in AD, but the permissions on the folder are wrong, the user can't log in.
