Ad Hoc Laptop Repair

Hi all

 

Was wondering how do you guys manage ad hoc laptop repairs. Do you have 3rd party vendors (if so can you please share )

If it's something simple like replacing the display, I'll tend to do that myself. However if it's more involved, like a broken DC jack...I'll take it to a local repair shop (the same shop we use to repair broken iPads).

Ours are done all in house.

This is a acer tablet and think needs new motherboard. not confident enough to do motherboard but might just give it a shot i guess

Find a youtube video or repair guide first.

 

They are handy when you are going through it.

Particularly with motherboards, I find with the difficulty of sourcing and the high cost of the parts, it's seldom cost effective to repair a laptop or tablet which needs a new board.

In house unless soldering is required, which I've never got the hang of. (In which case it's generally written off).
