TIOAOA Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 Looking for some software to video capture my screen with audio so I can put together a couple of quick how to videos. Any suggestions ? Ideally free but I don't mind paying a couple of quid for some advanced features
Arthur Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 Captura is another good one... www.edugeek.net/forums/downloads/207143-captura-open-source-screen-capture-app-windows.html I only came across it yesterday. 1
Davit2005 Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 I use BandiCam, I have paid subscription but the feature list is good. You can have webcam and screen captured to different files, external voice device on seperate files, very configurable and has not let me down once. 1
MatthewL Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 Funny enough OBS was what I was going to recommend, I watched a how to last night made by it, first time I had seen so downloaded it, yet to play but looks ok. 1
TomHD Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 OBS is hands down the best option for screen recording 1
TomHD Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 dosent obs need 2 pcs and actual capture hardware? no, will work on the worst of PCs at low resolutions and low frames per second
ass17 Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 We use ActivePresenter as a portable app over our network. https://atomisystems.com/activepresenter/ 1
mrstrong Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 I've used screencast-o-matic free version before https://screencast-o-matic.com/ basic but good and portable (no need to install) I think free version puts watermark on vid. Also seems to produces small file sizes but still good quality
Arthur Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 I think free version puts watermark on vid. You have to pay to remove the watermark unfortunately. It's the same with Screencastify. ^ If you edit a Screencastify video with the trial version of WeVideo you get two watermarks!!! 🤢 It might be just me, but considering all of the other good free apps mentioned in this thread, I'm not sure why anyone would use screen capture software that adds a watermark. It makes the videos look really amateurish. 👎
