Hi

I have a windows vista home laptop and have forgotten the administrator password. There is another account set on the laptop that i am using now but dont have admin rights.

I need to crack or reset the administrator password. Any ideas on this?

Thanks

Or try Austrumi (google it) either Hirens or Austrumi work with vista as I have used them to wipe the admins and/or users password, just cant remember which one I used....

For those with a schools agreement and SA you will have recieved the CD's with the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack for Software Assurance aka the old Winternals ERD Commander.

Everthing you need is there including locksmith.

if you type "CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2" (Without quotations) into the run option on the start button you will be able to set up the laptop to automatic log on to the administrator login! it means u do not have to worry about passwords, and you can still use the lock function as well. this process will also enable you to change the password there 2.

here's the link if you need any more advice! it says windows xp but has worked on my vista laptop as well

Configure Windows XP to Automatically Login

@guinness_1864: userpasswords2 requires administrator privileges IIRC. It'd be a pretty poor show if a normal user could reset the admin's password...
