Now that sounds like a pain free way for me to go, I have used VNC internally before but not externally. Would I have to build a new server to host VNC? Would it not be ok to put it on my Domain Controller?

Im sure this is easy but I dont get how to do it...I have had many Remote Desktops to the my servers before via noip.com or dyndns and routing the connection to the server IP. However I have a school that Im not at very often and want to be able to remote in and choose which desktop/laptop to connect to so I can take over their screen and give remote assistance via the internet. Whenever I have set RDP up I have only managed to get the server desktop and not workstations in network, how do I route to the internal machines? preferably using free or open source software.... I recently installed exchange server 2003, being that I had never done this before I thought I would try it out on a couple of users...all was going well until 3-4 days later when the wholde thing stops working..wont send or receive. I have battled with this for weeks managing (not sure how) to get it working for 3-4 days then for no apparent reason it stops again. I just notice today however, that the Exchsrvr folder in program files is a massive 22GIG and that had taken the hard drive down to 12mb not good! Should this folder be this big? (only have 2 users so far) and would this stop exch from sending/receiving? Please help this is driving me nuts! and headteacher wants this accross whole school... Thank you

Ive had an exchange 2003 server set up for a while now but only ever used it myself so never noticed any problems. I have now decided to add other users they are all set in AD with their SMTP email addresses but all incoming mail regardless of what email address comes to my mailbox and wont go to theirs...I must have missed something really stupid here...been at it for hours to no avail..

I tried that every which way I could find, it either creates yet another "personal folder" (that can be deleted) or just continues to receive and send on the first "personal folder" never on mine. ??? I have noticed that if I login using IE browser by typing http://myserver/exchange/myname this all comes up perfectly with my credentials, i just want the same for the local outlook program.

I have just set up my first exchange server (2003) all seems to be going well, considering I've never done this before. I can send mail via outlook (within my establishment, havent got to MX forwarders yet). The problem is that in outlook I have 2 folders "Personal Folders and "MailBox Kevin" (me). When I send and receive mail it goes to and from the "personal folder" inbox and sent box instead of from my "MailBox Kevin" this is empty regardless of what's sent or received. I have tried redirecting the .pst file from the personal folder and deleting it but it still wont let me delete it. I have tried redirecting the .pst file to "Mailbox Kevin" but all mail still goes from the "personal Folders" directories. I want my mail to come into and out of "Mailbox Kevin" not "personal folders" I want to get rid of "personal Folders" I'm running Windows Server 2003, Exchange 2003 and Outlook is on an XP Workstation... Help!! what am I doing wrong?

Or try Austrumi (google it) either Hirens or Austrumi work with vista as I have used them to wipe the admins and/or users password, just cant remember which one I used.... hope that helps

Thanks for the replies I dont think that the GPMC will run on win2k server (or so i heard) havent tried it though... ive checked the users and they're not domain admins its a very simple setup just whoever did it didnt bother with OU's as i guess they didnt want or didnt know about Group Policies. Anyway, thanks for your help I will transfer over a couple of users that are no longer used first just in case.. cheers

I have recently taken over a windows 2000 server, all the users (about 50 of them) have been created in the users folder in Active Directory, unfortunately this stops me from applying any group policies. If I move the users to a newly created OU what will be the consequences, baring in mind that there wont be any GP's on them anyway willit affect any other areas of each user account. Yes I think I get that, put an OU in an OU and link the original Gp's to it and add new gp's to it too..willthis work for windows 2000 server too (ie can i add the gp snapin to it)

Im running windows server 2003 and Windows XP Pro clients. I have created an OU and created users in that OU. I have set a group policy on that OU and they all work just fine. I now want to take 6 of the users from this OU and add additional Group Policies to them (keeping the original GP's) I created another OU then placed a security group into it and added the 6 users as members, i then added the additional group policies to that OU expecting the original GP's and the additional GP's to apply when the users logged on....needless to say it didnt work...what am i doing wrong. Thanks
